Chapter 5

The next morning, all the animals in the forest were hurrying to the Alinchuvadu, for the meeting. They all know that, if they don't attend the gathering, they will be executed. The Simhathaburan was such a hot tempered King. He even killed his own father to take the throne. Everyone also know that, the Minister of the King, Kurukketan was the real cruel one. He have killed lot of animals, with his treachery. Everyone knew that both of them are the real curse of the Ariyankavu Forest.

On that morning, Kakathamburatti also wanted to go to the meeting, but the crying of the Karadikkutten hold her back. It was the decision of the Mother inside her. No mother leaves her children, no matter what happens!

While she was taking care of the children, she saw the Kaalletan running towards her nest. He was trembling with fear and she felt that the words are stuck somewhere in his throat. She asked " What happened, Kaalleta?"

Kaallettan was still shivering, like a child.  Sweat is all over him like he had bathed in it. He said in Shivering voice "Kakathamburatti, the King has ordered to execute you, so please leave the Forest as fast as possible." He continued "The Pandarapada, (the King's Soldiers) will come anytime...."

Kakathamburatti was also frightened, she stood there like a statue for sometime. She told "Me and the children can fly, but what about Karadikuttan?" She was very worried about Karadikuttan.

"Don't worry, I will take care of him." Kaalletan assured her.

Now they can hear the sound of the Pandarapada.  Kaalletan said  "Hurry....."

Kakathamburatti and her children flew to the raining sky, they all are frightened.  Kaalletan took the Karadikuttan with him...

When the Pandarapada reached the nest of Kakathamburatti, it was empty. No one was there, the Pandarapada searched every nook and corner for them. Finally they got a letter from Kakathamburattil hanging at the entrance of the nest. It says "I am leaving for now. But I will return with my children to avenge you..." And the letter was addressed to Simhathamburan...
