Chapter 9

Karadiammavan is sitting on big rock near Pachakulam, he cannot believe that he is leaving this forest. He is sure that he will miss the kids in the forest, the tasty honey from Madhumala, the heavenly smell of this forest, his friends, and more importantly, his father, Kaalletan. His heart is filled with sorrow and he wanted to cry loudly....

The Moon is shivering his cool light over Karadiammavan, like the affection from his father. Karadiammavn is still confused.... he don't know, where to go and what to do? He only knows that this is his last day in the Ariyankavu Forest. Finally he decided to go, it is his best choice...

Kardiammavan stood on the rock and watched his forest for the last time. Still his shadow is pointing towards the forest, even his shadow is unwilling to leave the forest...

He is now walking through the Pachakulampatha. It will take at least 1 hour to cross the border the Ariyankavu forest. He knows that there will be King's guards near the border. So each of his steps are with caution...

Finally he reached near the border of the Ariyankavu, he can even see the entrance of the Chenkotta forest from there, his eyes are still searching for those guards of the King, but no one is there at the border. He felt relieved.

Suddenly he heard the sound of Kuttankadavaval, a member of Pandarapada. "Traitor...traitor...." His heart starts beating fast, but he didn't even know what to do. His mind is blank and he just stand there like a stone statue.

Suddenly, he heard the clashing sound of swords, the cry of animals... he didn't understand what is happening.
After sometime, silence engulfed the whole place, no sword clashes, nothing... Still he is standing there, without moving even an inch.

After some time, a crow come in friend of him and asked. " Who are you?"

Karadiammavan, just looked at the crow. She is a little old one, but still she is well built and powerful. Her one eye is covered with a piece of cloth, most probably she is one eyed. She wiped the blood of Kadavavalpada from her sword and repeated her question in anger.

"Ah.... I am Karadiammavan..." He replied. Suddenly She asked " and why are you here?"

" I want to cross the border..." He replied in pain.

"Then what are you waiting for, just cross the border..." She ordered and he starts walking.

While walking to the border, he can see those dead bodies of Kadavavalpada...Most of them are without the head. He asked "You did this alone?... Oh God...Cool." And she replied in anger "Hurry..."

They have reached the entrance of Chenkotta forest. Suddenly the crow said "Good bye..." and starts flying. He tried to stop her, he had a lot of questions to ask her.... but she flew away....

He just looked at that brave bird and asked himself "Who is she?"
